Over three mornings, kids make and take home a whole stack of handmade pieces — personalized keychains, beaded charms, and felt patches — along with the hand-stitching skills behind them. A new project each day, every supply provided, and plenty of one-on-one help. They just show up ready to make.
Why I love teaching this one
Three mornings, three different little projects, and a room full of kids who can’t wait to show you what they made — that’s my favorite kind of week. We start with keychains, move into beadwork, and finish with felt patches, so each day builds a little more skill and a lot more confidence. They walk out with something they made with their own hands, and usually a new thing they want to try next. After thirty years of sewing, watching a kid light up over their first hand-stitched patch never gets old.
